**Update-sorry guys this ended 9/21.

A Letter to Someone Who Should Know Better

Dear Ms. Hobby Lobby Cashier,

Today you acted with complete stupidity. Seriously. Not only had you been doing your job, handling nasty money, touching the items people had been buying. But, you had a terrible cough. You had just got through having a major coughing fit before you checked me out. I do believe you are old enough to know better. You probably have kids of your own, possibly even grandkids. I really wonder though. Have you no common sense?

You took one of my newest pet peeves to a new level. Please don't touch my baby's hands. He puts them in his mouth. A lot. He loves to chew on them. Your nasty, dirty, money touching, cough covered, germ infested hands pass germs to my baby's sweet, soft, chewable hands. If he gets sick I will be calling you to come and take care of him. His teeth make him crabby enough these days. I do not need your cough to go with it.

If you would like to oooohhh and goooo over my baby, feel free. If you would like to touch his cute little piggies, go for it. If you want to pinch his fluffy little cheeks, have at it. But PLEASE don't touch his hands.

Thanks,
Mrs. Over-protective New Mom

*This is based on a true story. I didn't say anything to her because if I would have I would probably be in banned from HL. How stupid can you be? Use your brain every now and then.

Out of the Past

Its hard to believe that 8 years ago today, I was sitting in my high school Calculus class. It was this day that changed our whole senior year. I remember everyone asking each other if they knew where Jessica(Arnzen) was. No one did. Then I remember the announcement over the intercom asking all seniors to come to the cafeteria. I remember seeing Ben with his mom and grandma. They had been crying. We found out where Jessica was.
I think that was the hardest day of our senior year, and the days that would follow. Why did God take someone with so much potential, such a love for life? Someone that could make you smile when you were having the worst day? It was so unfair. I still think about Jess. When I don't wear my seat belt, which is way more often than it should be. I think about her at weird moments. I wonder what she would be doing now.
Today is also my mom and aunt's birthday. That's what makes this day stick out so easily in my mind. It is no longer just my mom's birthday.

On a lighter note, today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. So Ahoy Matey, have a wonderful weekend. And have a great one year anniversary Kara!

Camdenisms

What's new in Camden's world? Our days are now filled with slobber, frozen pacifiers, and fussiness. That's right. We're teething. It's no fun. Camden doesn't like it and Mommy definitely doesn't. He is so cranky at night its terrible. The frozen pacifiers, combined with Tylenol, seem to be helping. He also likes to chew on his bib or burp cloth. Mommy's fingers are also a new favorite.

Other than that we haven't been doing much. The only thing we have left on our checklist is rolling over and I'm not sure we are going to do that. I'm beginning to think that he just doesn't want to. We're still trying though. Cereal is still going well, I'm thinking of maybe trying oatmeal or going up to two feedings a day. Does anyone remember when they did either one? I need to call the Dr. and see what they say.

Daddy has been coming home ENTIRELY too late this week. Camden is disappointed that he doesn't get to spend much time with Dad, and Mom doesn't like Dad not being home to give her somewhat of a break, especially with cranky pants. That's okay, I get to go next week to sit through that hour long survey and get my $50 Target card while Dad babysits, a.k.a be's a Dad. I would like to set up the camcorder somewhere and see how that goes.

Okay, I'm gonna go. I have a terrible headache thanks to lack of caffeine and that monthly visitor I didn't miss! I think I'll go order Camden's Halloween costume. I think I decided on the lion.

A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E

Last Week, in Pictures

Saturday, Camden had his first trip to the fair...Loved it!

Sunday, Camden started cereal...Loved it too!

Wednesday, Camden was in the baby contest. He didn't win and didn't really love it.

Thursday we went to Springfield and saw Jess and Jase. He did really good on the way out.

Friday we took the boys to get their pictures made for Grandma's birthday(shh). Mommy and Aunt Jess loved them!

Then they had their first of many baths together.
(If you look closely, you will find Jase's new "toy")

Saturday we went to Bass Pro...

and the zoo and the boys both LOVED it!

Sunday we came home, and Carmon was the only one who loved that.
The remnants of Ike made for pretty scenery though.

I am not a bad Mom!!!

I just have a stupid camcorder. I didn't erase all of Camden's stuff like I thought I had, my camcorder is just messed up. Thank God, but not thank God. Does anyone know of a good repair shop? It's not wanting to rewind/fast forward. Who knows.

Camden didn't win last night, although he WAS the cutest baby there. I might be a little prejudice. Just saying.

Also, Baby Einstein is truly the GREATEST thing. He was so mad, wouldn't calm down for anything. Put him in the bouncy seat with Baby Einstein and we are fine. Amen! We are heading out of town in a few hours for the weekend. Hopefully we won't get all of the rain they are calling for. Have a good weekend!

Pies, Pies, Pies

I got an e-mail I figured I should share with you all. The holiday season isn't too far away and lots of baking will be in store. Here is a link to a free digital version of the new Pillsbury Pies magazine. Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary...to me!

It's another 3 today. Three wonderful years since that HOT September day, when my dad walked me down the aisle to marry my high school sweetheart. Three years since my beautiful sister was my matron of honor. Three years since we postponed our honeymoon a few days so that Carmon could stay home and go to the demo derby at the fair...yeah, I'm that good of a wife. Three years since we hiked that miserably long hike to see the waterfall in Gatlinburg. We hadn't planned on hiking it, so we weren't prepared. It only proved to me how incredibly out of shape I was (am). Wow, time has flew!

I honestly don't remember a lot from that day. It was hot. I left my hair down and should have put it up. I did eventually that night, with my little flower girls bow/clip. I remember how good I felt seeing so many people there, family and friends. I look back now and am so glad I got married that year. If we would have waited Grandma would have not been here to celebrate with us. I remember Carmon's face as I walked down the aisle. He had tears in his eyes. It was so sweet. Don't ask him, he'll deny it. I remember dancing the father/daughter dance. My dad also had tears in his eyes. The strange part is I didn't cry at all that day. In fact, I laughed and smiled through most of it.
We aren't exchanging gifts, nor are we doing anything extravagant. Tonight we are taking Camden to the fair, again. He is gonna win the baby boy contest. Tomorrow we are leaving for Jess' to spend the weekend with them. We have hopes of going to Silver Dollar City and the zoo, but its looking like a rainy weekend. Maybe it'll be nice enough to at least do some fun stuff. I'll post pics tomorrow of tonight.

Lucky Day!

Today was my lucky day. Not only did I get 2 of my samples I had requested in the mail (Kotex and Playtex), I also got $10 in formula checks. Then, here come the best part. Drum roll...

I got a phone call, from a weird number. I was pleasantly surprised when the voice on the other line was an English speaking woman. She wanted to know if I would be interested in doing a survey/review on birthing centers in our area. My reward? A $50 Target card! Would I be interested? Did she even have to ask?

Hopefully this isn't one of those "too good to be true" things. We'll see, I have to go sit through an hour long thing on Sept. 23, then I'll be going straight to Target. I'm thinking I will spend the WHOLE thing on me. I desperately need some new clothes. I'll keep you informed

Happy Birthday Cam Cam!!!

Holy Cow, I'm 3 months old!!

It's so hard to believe that it has already been 3 months since I was blessed with my little angel. It has been unbelievable so far. They always say that you never knew how much you could love someone until you have your own baby...It's so true. I could seriously sit and kiss him ALL day long. Words don't describe it. He usually takes my breath away on a daily basis. Nothing else really matters anymore.

It can be trying at times to, I'm not going to lie. Like the way he chooses to cry inconsolably every time we come home from Cape. Or when he doesn't want to finish his bottle. Or the way he waits until you put a clean diaper on him to poop. I'm not complaining. Trust me. I know how fortunate I am. Then all it takes is that one little smile and my heart melts all over again.

I am looking forward to this month. We have already stepped up to the level 2 nipples, which are wonderful. He eats twice as fast now. I'm really wondering if he had stopped eating as much the past couple weeks because it was just too much work and took too long. We started cereal on Sunday. He LOVES it. I LOVE it too! Sunday he at around 7:30 and didn't wake up to eat again until 4 something. Last night he ate at 7 and didn't get up until almost 5:30. I don't regret not adding it to his bottle sooner. Not trying to offend anyone, but I think that it is just a little selfish and lazy to put it in there bottle JUST to get them to sleep through the night. I know that there are other circumstances that you have to do this. We're getting closer to moving him to his own room. I think I'll wait until he is rolling over. They say the risk of SIDS drops dramatically after they can roll over. We're working on that.

I could go on, probably for days, but I really need to go do something more productive. Honestly, I probably won't. I think I'll type my blog for tomorrow!

6 Randoms

Kara tagged me to do a fun little blog that she posted. Its simple, just list 6 random things about yourself. Have I mentioned I'm not a very random person?

1. My name on my birth certificate is Clara Nicole Porch. The hospital made a mistake and my mom didn't bother fixing it until I was 15 and had to get my driver's permit.

2. I can pick things up with my toes. They are long, my niece says they are freaky.

3. I have 6 nephews and 2 nieces. If you count the steps there are 14. I am also a step-great-aunt 3 times. Its weird because all of them except Jase are pretty well grown.

4. I have a hitchhikers thumb(bends at a 90 degree angle). There aren't many people that have them. I remember in high school I had the best one in Mr. Black's class.

5. I am officially addicted to the smell of baby. Its intoxicating. Like a drug. I'm gonna bottle it and sell it. The smell of spit-up mixed with baby lotion. Amazing.

6. I HATE carrying a purse. I truly despise it and always have. For this reason I have lost my debit card many times and usually leave home without something that I need. Now, I put my stuff in Camden's diaper bag. I'm not much of a girly girl.

In other news, I'm leaving my baby tomorrow night. I think. His Nay-Nay(Aunt Renee) is gonna watch him until GiGi(Angela) gets out of class, then she is gonna keep him in case its super late when we get home. Wish them (me) luck! I'm gonna miss him, but I think I'm ready for a little time away.

Happy Birthday!

Miley Joan is 2 months old today!

Our busy week

This week is going to be crazy hectic. Tuesday night Carmon is riding with one of his friends in the demolition derby at the fair. I kind of want to go, but it would require finding a babysitter and leaving Camden (he still hasn't been away from me for more than 1 1/2 hours (and that was only one time)). And the derby doesn't get over with until probably midnight or later, so I would be interrupting someones sleep if they watched him. I think I'll just stay home with my cuddle bug.

Wednesday night I entered Camden into the baby boy contest at the fair, and it is also our 3 year anniversary. I hope Camden is good and charms the judges with his full face smile and amazing laugh. x Fingers crossed x

Thursday, my niece has a volleyball game in SC that I need to go watch. They live an hour away, so it is a perfect opportunity to watch her in a close game. We are also planning to leave for Spfld for a weekend getaway sometime Thursday night. I told Carmon this is what I want for our anniversary. Kara you are more dedicated than me, we don't do the "traditional" gifts. Although this year is leather and he could use a new wallet. We'll see.

Friday, we will wake up in Spfld! Yay! It has been about six weeks since Jase and Camden have seen each other so it may be interesting. It will definitely be a baby kiss-a-thon for Jess and me. We will also be taking pictures of the boys all weekend long ;).

Saturday, we are planning a trip to the zoo. This should be fun, as Camden LOVES being outside and Jase is getting old enough to enjoy this sort of thing.

Sunday, we will journey home :( I wanted to stay until Monday but DH can't live without work. I think that Camden and I should rename ourselves WORK. We would definitely get to spend more time with Dad that way. We are only coming home on Sunday if he has to work at work. Don't tell Carmon. It will be overtime yummy $$ so we probably can't pass it up because we are still paying for Camden.

Okay, I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted just looking at this!

Its official....

I'm the worst mom ever!

Tonight I decided we would go ahead and start feeding Camden his cereal. It went pretty well for his first time, I thought. I couldn't feed it to him fast enough. He's a little pig. He also thought that he had to have the spoon in his mouth to swallow. He is absolutely the cutest thing ever.

After eating, I figured it would be a good idea to record his bath since we haven't recorded it since he has learned to splash. Unfortunately, he didn't want to be a movie star and refused to play.

Now comes the bad mom part. I wanted to reminisce on the past three months by watching everything we had recorded since his birth. We recorded some at the hospital, his first sponge bath, a few play times at home, among other things. I rewound the tape to the beginning, and what do I see? Camden swimming!!! What the #3ll? What did I do? The first three months of my baby are gone. I am SO mad at myself. I swear that I hit "end search" on the camcorder to find the end of the tape when we went swimming. I'm so sad. I just might cry.

So, congratulations jaseypants...aka Jess. You'll get your giftcard when I come to see you and my "oh so scrumptious" nephew next week. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I'm still leaning towards the lion. Target has free shipping and I still have a code for 10% off!

In other news, Jess had someone come and look at her house today. Please say a quick prayer that they are REALLY interested and buy it. Then I can move them home and into my house next weekend :)

Happy Birthday!!!

Jase David is 7 months old today! It's so hard to believe he's already crawling, pulling up on stuff, and he has his first tooth!!!

What does Camden want to be for Halloween?

I know we still have a little less than 2 months, but I want to figure it out before all of the good costumes are gone. Jess and Jase are planning on coming home, so we thought of maybe dressing them to coordinate, and maybe even adding Miley if we could find something. Let me know your ideas. They can be just for Camden, or Jase and Camden, or Jase, Miley and Camden.

Here are a few I like:

Cute

Funny

If I pick your idea or really like it, your creativity may be REWARDED (as in a giftcard). To be considered please post your ideas by Friday, September 5 at 12 p.m. If I don't like any ideas I think I still reward someone by giving away a giftcard. I'm thinking $10. Target. I might be swayed if you would like it somewhere else.

***UPDATE*** If you post about my giveaway with a link back to it on your blog I will give you an extra entry in my giveaway. After you post come back and leave me a comment letting me know that you did it.

25 Things I Want to do Before I Die

Evidently there is A LOT of bloggers block going on right now. I found this idea while visiting another blog, I couldn't stop at 20 though.

1. Have at least one more baby.

2. Go to Vegas.

3. Make Jess move home.

4. Build a house.

5. Have a better relationship with my father. Well, I guess any kind of relationship.

6. Fly.

7. Find a job I love.

8. See that a cure is found for the evil of all evil's...Cancer.

9. Get a tattoo. But then I can't donate my organs. Tough choice. Have I told you I don't want my eyes donated though?

10. Learn how to use the sewing machine my grandma left me. I took Home-Ec, but I still can't figure out how to make this one work.

11. Give my kids everything I didn't have.

12. Celebrate at least a 50 year wedding anniversary.

13. Ride on a Harley again, maybe even learn to ride by myself. This won't happen until my kids are grown. Remember the couple that died from Perryville? I can't do that to my kids.

14. Find my memory.

15. Learn how to take criticism.

16. Tell people what I really think.

17. Watch my kid(s) grow up, get married, and meet my grandkids.

18. Scuba Dive.

19. Learn how to make homemade bread like Grandma did, and perfect the divinity. You never realize that you may never have another Christmas to learn how to make it. Life's short, learn the things you want to know now.

20. Learn to trust...fully. Sounds silly but I have major issues.

21. Visit a foreign country.

22. Visit the town I was born in. Whitwell, TN. My mom was on vacation when she had me.

23. Travel to ALL 50 states.

24. Be a better wife.

25. Love unconditionally. I think Camden is already teaching me this one though!

There's so much more, its hard to think though. If you have blogger's block this is a good idea. It really gets you thinking.

Dumbfounded!?!

I have officially reached 50 posts. Big Deal. I know.

Things are a little slow right now, I'm lost on what to blog on. So I want to know, what do you guys want to know? Ask me anything, I might answer :)
