My Springfield Trip

Okay its only been 2 weeks since I went to Springfield, but I really wanted to blog about it. On Wednesday(2 weeks ago) Carmon came home and threw a pile of his work clothes in the floor. I'm thinking what the hell-he's recently got uniforms so I don't have to wash them. I asked what that was about and he responded that he had to go to Alabama for work. He was leaving Thursday morning and didn't know for sure when he would return. I immediately got upset-Do they really send someone with a 5 week old out of town? What about our float trip we were supposed to go on, he was FINALLY going to take a break from working and relax? Those things didn't matter, and if you know my husband he loves to work. At least this way he would be bring home $$. Usually on his days off he helps his parents. The idea popped in my head, if he's not going to be home to go floating, I'm going to Springfield. It's extremely hard on both Jess and me these days not being able to see the boys as much as we'd like. Thursday he called to let me know he was definitely NOT going to be home for the float trip. I told him I was going to Spfld and he said he didn't care. I just had to go during the day and get there before dark. Some wondered what I was thinking taking a 5-week-old on a 4+ hour road trip. I don't really know, I was just ready to get the hell away from Scott City and some of the things going on. I frantically started doing laundry, I don't have a lot of clothes that fit these days, and packing everything in the house-you never know what you might need. I left Friday afternoon. Camden was the most wonderful passenger EVER! He slept until Van Buren, where I woke him up to eat. I let Chloe(the dog) out to potty and with in 45 minutes we were back on the road.
I'm going to rewind for a sec though. This was also my first time traveling with the dog for a long trip, she had road in town, but never any longer. Call me super crazy! While we were on 60 heading towards Dexter they were doing some repaving and there were uneven lanes. I was also on the cell phone talking, next thing I know Chloe has stepped on the window switch was automatic and it rolls all the way down. She flips out and comes scurrying into my lap...AAAAHHHHH!!!! I can't drive with her on my lap, I have extremely precious cargo in the back and one wrong move from her, especially with uneven lanes and we could have trouble. I told my mom I had to get off the phone and get Chloe calmed down. I put her back in her seat and locked the windows.

After we got back on the road Camden fell back asleep and slept the rest of the way to Aunt Jess'. When we arrived he woke up starving. Our trip home was much of the same, except I tried to push him a little to far. We were about 15 miles from Van Buren and he was sleeping good. I thought, Okay-we can make it. WRONG! He woke up screaming, throwing a fit. There was no gas stations or anywhere to stop, and I wasn't brave enough to stop on the side of the road. I had a screaming mad baby for a few minutes but we survived.
Friday night we were too tired to cook so we went to Pizza Inn with the boys, and they were both a little antsy. Saturday we took a trip to Branson. Sunday we just relaxed. Monday we headed home. It is starting to get funner. Camden is growing more everyday and Jase is crawling and eating baby food. He also found little Camden's paci that weekend-he never really took one.

Jase doesn't like his peas!!!
