A little update

Today I had a doctors appointment and they are still kind of pointless. I am measuring a centimeter or so big, she said it wasn't a big deal. I get another ultrasound in 2 weeks, I'm not really sure why. She said nothing was wrong. It excites me either way, I get to see my little boy!

Daddy has been busy this week working on the outside of the house during the day and the baby's room at night. We are down to putting new carpet in and adding the chair rail. Its painted....YAY!!!! That makes me feel better. Maybe by next week we will have it all together.

Showers, Birthdays, and Job "Promotions"....Oh My!

Over the weekend I had my first baby shower. It was a wonderful time despite the dreary weather. My sister was in charge with help from my mom, aunts, and Angela. She did a dump truck/construction theme and it was super cute. We got lots of fun things and many essentials to help us along the way. The baby's room still is nowhere close to being done, although we do have the paint. Its gonna be a bright, happy room to say the least. Hopefully that makes for a bright, happy baby. My living room looks like a daycare with all of the goodies in it. Hopefully Daddy can get the room together soon!



Today is Carmon's birthday. He's the big 2-6. He has to work tonight and then go get his haircut so he won't be home until at least 6:30. I think we'll stay in and I'm gonna try to make him chicken-n-dumplings if I have time. We are cutting corners with our money right now, so he just got a new pair of dress shoes, which he needed badly, and a wallet.

In other exciting/scary news, Carmon is up for a job promotion. Right now he works as an operator and it is swing shift. This position would be Monday-Friday with no weekends, but it would be salaried. He would be safety manager and it would require about 40% travel, so he would also get a NEW truck from work. The only bad part is not knowing how much time he would have to spend away from home overnight. If its only a few days a month that would be okay, I just don't want it to be a few days a week :( The increase in pay would also be significant (hopefully). Even better, hopefully it would be enough for me to stay at home with our (STILL unnamed) baby boy, or at least work very minimally. I think I want a part-time job with just a few days a week so I can get my social security built up a little more.

That's what going on in our cozy little world, and looking for a name. I'm still thinking Camden. Its been awhile and I still haven't changed my mind. Guess I still have 7 weeks left.

Tomorrow is the 2 month mark....

I am going to start this off with a quote, one that kind of hits home with me. Its from a book that my Aunt Kim got the baby for Easter.

"It is a wise father that knows his own child."

Everyone who knows me knows how this quote relates to me. I am so excited and anxious to give my little boy something I have never had, a loving, devoted father. I know that Carmon is going to be a great dad, I can't wait for the baby to get here because I know I am going to fall in love with him all over again. The way he is with kids is one of the reasons I married him, I wanted someone who would give my kids the one thing I had always wanted growing up. I could go on, but lets stop there :)

On another note, the house is getting closer to being baby ready. I think the plan is for Carmon and Josh (my brother-in-law) to maybe paint the nursery this weekend. Jess, Josh, Jase, and Bailey(my dog nephew) will be coming home this weekend for my shower, hopefully. Josh's grandma is not doing to well, so we are praying that doesn't prevent them from being able to come home. The nursery getting painted also depends on my indecisive self deciding how I wanted it painted too. I want it blue, orange, and green, but have no idea how to make it all work and not look stupid. I think I might be a little to particular right now, I just want everything to be perfect for my new little man. I thought I had decided on a name last week, and Carmon told me I couldn't tell anyone for sure because I'll just find something I like better and change it. He's probably right, but I think I'm leaning more towards Camden. I'm still undecided on a middle name. Who knows, tomorrow his name might be Michael....haha! I'll be sure to let everyone know when I do decide on a name!

My Crazy Wonderful Life

I haven't blogged in awhile, mainly due to the fact I have been crazily busy and tired. Last Monday night I had my epidural class, they try to make it look like its a piece of cake. Then my sister called to tell me that she was coming home with my precious nephew. They arrived Tuesday and left on Sunday. It is so hard everytime she leaves, especially now that Jase is here. I feel like I miss so much with them living so far away. I hope things work out so that she can move home in the NEAR future, but she still has to convince the her dear hubby. I had a very fun filled week playing with him though. I also had my doctors appointment on Thursday. Everything is good, I hate these appointments. They are completely pointless, but necessary I suppose. We have birthing class this Saturday and I'm sure Carmon will be the class clown. I guess it will keep me awake though. Pregnancy is definitely setting in, I stay tired and am starting to swell. Luckily, we only have 9 1/2 weeks left-YIKES!!!

We are also trying to get our house ready for our (still nameless) prince. Carmon went and bought tile last night and ripped up the old stuff in one bathroom. Tonight he started painting the bathroom and took the toilet out, hopefully he can get it all done tomorrow. We still have so much to do. Its scary to think that baby could come anytime now...hopefully not for at least another 6 weeks though. Wish us luck!
