A Giveaway!!!

The poll on the right side of my page was not point-less. Thanks to all who voted. March 22nd marked my one-year blogiversary! Exciting I know. I can't believe it has been a year since I wrote my first blog. In honor of that and to thank all of you that have helped out my Relay for Life team, I will be giving you what YOU want.

I am giving away a $25 gift card to the restaurant of your choice. If you live outside my area, I will do my best to find a card to the restaurant you pick. If you live in my area, I would like to suggest you double your money by possible picking one of these restaurants (I just found this website recently, and thought I would share).

How do you enter, you ask?

  1. Leave a comment, telling me WHY you started your blog AND WHERE you would like your gift card to.
  2. If you have/will by a cookbook, leave me a comment.
  3. If you left an online donation, leave me a comment.
  4. If you will donate something to my yard sale, leave me a comment. We are changing the date to April 18.
  5. A new way to donate to my team is to purchase a luminaria in honor or memory of a loved one that has had cancer. I have the bags that you can decorate or I can simply write your loved one's name on it for you. They are $10 and all the money goes to the American Cancer Society. They have a special ceremony at the Relay where they light candles in the bags and read the names of all the people.

I will end this giveaway on Sunday, April 5th at 11:59 p.m. and draw on Monday. Good luck!

A Letter to Someone Who Obviously DOESN'T Know Better

Dear Ms. Hobby Lobby Cashier,

You obviously did not receive my last letter. If so, you wouldn't have let your stupidity triumph again today. I'm am even more appalled by your behavior today, than I was on that day back in September. Today, you passed me and my wonderful baby as you were coming from the restroom going back to your cash register. I hope that you washed your hands because you had them all over my baby. I know he's "pretty", as you told me, but he doesn't need to be caressed by strangers, that's what Mommy is for. I don't care if you play with him, I gave you permission to do so in my last letter. I know he loves the attention. You may not have kids or grand kids to play with. That's fine.

When it was time to check out, I purposely avoided your line. There are boundaries that you shouldn't cross. Unfortunately, you finished checking out your customer before my cashier got through with me.

What did you do? Came over to MY lane. Played with MY baby (that was fine). Then YOU KISSED MY baby. I don't know you!!! Keep your saliva off of MY baby. Am I out of line here? How would you feel if someone KISSED your baby? Someone you don't know. I don't even know your name. Its not like we even have a casual relationship. NO relationship at all. I am so tempted to call your manager and tell him to tell you to stop crossing the line with babies. You have done things like this TWICE to me. No telling how many other innocent babies you are passing your germs to. You must be stopped!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Fixing to be Psycho Mom

**Yes this REALLY happened today. I don't even know what to think. Seriously.

Etsy+Ashley=LOVE

If I ever have a girl I am going to be in Capital T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!! I just can't resist all the cutesy little things they have out for little princesses. I bought this, my first Etsy purchase for my Great-Niece, that is due to arrive any day. Great-Niece, how old am I!?!

Dusty and Tasha find out what they are having on Thursday, so I will find out if I am having another Great-Niece, or if it will be a Great-Nephew. (I already have 5 step-great-nieces/nephews...haha) Babies everywhere!

My Challenge for You!

It is that time of the year again and this year I really need your help. I am team captain of our Relay for Life team for the 3rd year in a row. We started doing Relay for Life right after Grandma lost her well-fought battle with cancer.

This year we are selling the cookbooks we made with her recipes in them again. We did this the first year and it was a great money maker. Hopefully we can get rid of them all again. There are 84 pages in the book, along with a helpful hints section. We are selling them for $10 and 6.50 from each book will go to the American Cancer Society.

We will also be having a yard sale to raise money for our team the first weekend in April.

Now to the point of this blog. I need all of you to help me. I challenge each person that reads my blog to either:

  • Donate money to my team. For every $10 you donate, I will donate $5.

  • Buy a cookbook, I will either deliver it or cover shipping charges.

  • Donate some old stuff you have laying around your house to our yard sale. What doesn't sale we donate to the Safe House for Women.

If you do any of the above leave me a comment here and I will enter you for a chance to win something (also to be determined). I will update this blog with my personal Relay link and the prize soon....Promise.

The Flea Market

A lot of you have wanted to know where the flea market to buy purses is at. Here is the info:

Frison Flea Market
7025 St. Charles Rock Rd.
St. Louis, MO

When I say this isn't a good neighborhood- I MEAN IT! It is definitely not a place I would take Camden. If you take your kids, take someone you can leave them in the car with. It is very intimidating, but well worth it.

And purse#2:

Jobless

I'm back. It's official. I am jobless again. No, I don't know what I am going to do. I'll probably go back to subbing if my sub certificate hasn't expired. I am also going to be on the look out for a real job. It wasn't as bad as I thought being away from Cam and the extra money helps out quite a bit. We are wanting to start building a new house, possibly this summer, so we need all the money we can get.

I'm sorry I have been such a slacker and I want to thank you all for sticking around. I need to get my creativeness together and I'll be blogging, hopefully daily-if Camden will allow.
